Rules for Expansion draft
1. You get to submit a 25 man protection list for your entire organization, players are not eligible to be drafted. (Major League to Rookie Leagues)
2. Between Nashville and Las Vegas (expansion teams), can only select a max of 5 players off your whole organization. This is to protect teams from being stripped off all the players.

Fill out application on page. Thanks for your time.

Actually I was thinking of joining, but the expansion rules seem to allow the two new teams to be awfully good....

25 players is not enough to protect on a roster of 120-150....

Also you can only loose 5 players max in the entire expansion draft, which is combined between both teams (Nashville and Las Vegas).

Two separate test of the league file that was completely controlled by CPU. Didnt check any stats or anything on the teams so that no one could accuse me of cheating. I just simmed to the end of the season and wrote down where they finished in their own divisions.

TEST 1
Year - Nashville-Las Vegas
2009 - 6th and 5th
2010 - 2nd and 5th
2011 - 4th and 5th
2012 - 6th and 4th
2013 - 5th and 5th

TEST 2
Year - Nashville-Las Vegas
2009 - 5th and 5th
2010 - 4nd and 5th
2011 - 4th and 3th
2012 - 5th and 4th
2013 - 4th and 5th

the only strange one was the Nashville in the year 2010 in test 1...

From my experience, protecting only 25 players on the roster allows expansion teams to rarely be bad. They might not win the division, but they will consistently lose fewer than 90 games.

I would like to be the Reds, but I don't like the thought of losing 5 good prospects.....

Are you planning to fill the expansion teams' complete minor leagues from the draft?

That would definetly make them not only decent teams to start, but also have a well-stocked minor leagues, which is unrealistic.

How many picks do the expansion teams get?

Before I answer your other questions. Loosing 5 prospects is nothing in the big picture. However you can protect any player including prospects. I'll tell you right know a barry zito or vernon wells wouldnt be drafted even if he was available. So people like that you could waive...Got to be smart on how you save your players for the 25 man roster.

1. No,

2. They get 35 picks....thats all...so they dont have much to start with. I know and so does the knights gm. We know were going to suck.
