Install/admin problem with Mac
Hey everyone -
SO frustrated. I just bought a new MAC. I've only used one license. Migrated my data, but didn't migrate applications because I didn't want to cause license problems. So I redownloaded the MAC file, fully ready to enter my second license. It downloads, but when I try to install it to the default folders, it tells me I lack admin rights and won't do it. I know how important the default folders are for adding mods, etc. When I tell it to continue, and I open the game, I have facegen/ folder problems and the game freezes. Someone please help. I'm so frustrated. And anxious to play the patched game. I'd buy it again, but I don't think it is a license issue. But I don't know. I've checked my rights to all folders, and I'm as sure as a computer idiot can be that I have full admin rights to everything needed. |

There are some hidden files that the game will install. It always installs these files in your Home Folder. It's possible that, for some reason, this is part of your problem -- that these files aren't getting installed properly. I'm just speculating here, but would need more info on what you are doing, step by step, and what the results seem to be. |

Thanks Steve -
It was the game that was giving me the error, actually. And I just in the last 2 or 3 hours figured it out. I had given permissions everywhere, but not in my documents file, where I didn't realize the game needed read/write access. Long story - I migrated my data in while signed in as the wrong user, etc, etc. I'm an idiot, essentially. Item resolved. My fault, not the program's. Dave |
