New College league needs 15

League Interest

This is an OOTP 8 league. I may upgrade to 10 but may not - depends on my 'disposable" income so if you do not want to use OOTP 8 (which is now free) This is not the league for you.. Being active is a "relative" term - If you can export line-ups once a week or so, Can check the forums once in a while and can write articles once in a while that will work.

This is a fairly straight forward league - It has no "trading" or finances, It requires no free agent signings - It is a great league for someone who wants to manage but does not want the "time" commitment of a standard league, This being said here is what is and is not:

1.) This is a "historic fictional league" based on college teams that were playing in the 1870's (The backstory explains this), Since this is a college league we will use no finances, or trades - What you do have is "scholarships" each team has 25 to offer - One for each rostered player, You may (by posting in the proper section on the forum) withdraw (drop a player) or offer (sign a player) scholarships any time - They may be offered to the available walk-on's as listed in the free agent section

These walk-ons are made up of recruits that were not offered a scholarship by a team during recruit signing (to clarify this, It is the draft and functions the same as the draft in other leagues but colleges do not draft they get LOI and offer scholorships)

After the season ends and the next season begins, We will have a recruit signing period (the draft). Prior to season start you will have to reduce roster and scholorship offers to 25 - Now the sim will remove all players once they reach a certain age (24) so all teams will automatically have spots open up each season based on player age

This is the premise for the league.. I will firm these up a little more - But want to get an interest level for the moment... I have 15 spots open - Notre Dame has been spoken for

Updated rules

It is the job of all managers to guide their school to the National Championship

Article I - Game Setup

The league is starting in 1870 and will progress yearly - the game settings are as follows:

Game Version: OOTP 8 (with latest patch ) this is also part of the OOTP8 free release
Game Type : Historical / Fictional all players are computer generated

SIM SCHEDULE: We will start with a 40 game schedule and add more in the "future" - Sims will occur 3 times a week - tenetivley (Mon, Wed, FRI) - We will sim 4 games per sim - This will put us thru a 40 game schedule in approx. 10 sims or 3 weeks

Coaching / Scouts: ON
Waivers / finances : OFF
Scholarships: Players can be signed every Sept (the draft)

Player Actual Ratings Scale: 1 to 20
Player Potential Ratings Scale: 1 to 20
Other Player Ratings Scale: 1 to 20
Show Ratings > Max: No, cut off
Over/Potential Ratings: Stars
Overall ratings based on players, Not position

Article II - Game Play

Each team has a roster of 18 players (there are no expanded rosters) these players vary in ages between 18 and 24, These players are not tradeable (though you can release them and open a scholarship spot) these players will continue to play in the league until they hit 24, Once they have reached 24 the sim will automatically release them from the rosters. Every year there will be new players that are available to sign in September.

Each manager is required to monitor their roster to assure open spaces are being filled

The flow of this league is uncomplicated as there will be no financials to deal with or "trading", It comes down to just straight managing, Not who has the most money

Article III - Management Expectations

Managers are expected to export rosters in a timely and regular fashion (once a week is acceptable)
Managers are expected to be aware of their rosters and deal with injuries, etc.. and take appropriate actions
Managers are expected to visit the forum in a regular fashion to keep up with events

And lastly, The biggie - Managers are required to post articles regularly (at least weekly), And prior to the start of the next season post a "media guide" about their team. I would welcome as much writing in this league as possible, Writing keeps people engaged and makes the league more interesting. These writing requirements are a must and if you do not like writing please do not apply
[/b]

Article IV - Team Relocations / Future Consideration

Teams may petition to relocate to any other institution after they have a couple seasons in. No team may relocate without the approval of the commission - Petitions are not guarenteed but will all be reviewed for approval.

The league schedule will eventually change to 66 games (about what is played currently)

The league may if enough interest is shown and can be supported by waiting lists expand to up to 24 teams

These rules are subject to future change / modification as required - Any change will require a majority vote by the league managers before they will be implemented

This is the premise for the league 15 spots open - Notre Dame has been spoken for
