Question about rotation?

Has anyone ever used a four pitcher rotation? I'm thinking about trying it because my fifth starter is really bad. Thank you

Well, there are some variables involved which make it impossible to say what would happen to your team. However, the question really is all about your bullpen and how strong it is. If it is very strong (and has 1-2 guys who can go extra innings) you can certainly go to a 4-man. The consequences are that the RPs will get a lot more innings. They may not recover in time if you run into a long extra inning game. These are the kind of considerations that cause teams to use and stick to a 5-man in the first place.

I play a lot of historical, in which 4-man is the norm, but the considerations are really much the same.

High stamina assists in recovery time. If your starters have really high stamina you can probably do it. You may have to spot start some times to ensure that your top guys can get rested back to 100 percent. You just don't want to start guys who aren't rested over 90 percent. Like was mentioned above, there are a lot of variables but it's doable.
