The Global Baseball News Network and a Chronicle of the Attempt to Globalize Baseball

Hello, this is my latest attempt at a dynasty. It will chronicle the 21st century and the efforts to share baseball with the world. The background of this is that the IOC dropped baseball from the olympics and the WBC was not as big of a success as in real life. Enjoy!

January 1, 2007

The world of baseball has officially been stunned. The Commissioner of the MLB Bud Selig has announced that the speculated MLB Network many have been waiting for has been confirmed. The stunner of all this: The MLB has signed a deal with [league redacted] to broadcast select games in Japan as well as bring select MLB games to Japan. This deal is speculated to have been made as a response to the International Olympic Committee's decision to drop Baseball from the Games in 2012.

The Global Baseball News Network, as the MLB Network is now called, will begin broadcasting MLB games in 2009 and *** games are supposedly scheduled as early as 2011, and is expected to sign deals with other International Baseball leagues in an effort to spread baseball and get it back into the Olympics.

The World Baseball Classic, which aired last spring, did not go as well as anticipated, and Bud Selig stated he wanted to "do something more"

Breaking News Alert!

MLB, who earlier signed a deal with ***, has reportedly signed deals with KBO and CPBL and is extending coverage in Mexico as well. Not many details have been confirmed, but it is safe to say the deals will be similar to the one signed earlier. We will bring more coverage when more details are confirmed.

UPDATE:
We have just received news that the gBNN will infact be covering the select games CPBL, KBO and the Mexican League.

The gBNN will begin coverage of the KBO and CPBL in 2012 and the MXL in 2013.

Alright, here is my game plan for this Dynasty Report. I created a universe with a Real MLB and *** (via *** DB 0.94), fictional KBO, CPBL, MiLB and Mexican League all with fictional feeders. I will do monthly reports on the MLB and yearly reports on the other leagues until 2011-2013 when i will cover the foreign leagues monthly as well.

P.S.
I couldn't post anything sooner because my universe took forever to start.

P.S.S.

Feel free to comment and give suggestions. This is my first true dynasty so...

I decided to continue this. After all, it's only two extra United States of America right?

BTW, if anyone wants me to look into a team or player for them, ask. I am still open to opinions as well.

Who needs to drop the devil now? And since the Yankees are fighting the A's for the Wildcard currently, this could be an interesting season.

News Flash:

The MLB Draft was yesterday, and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, in what critics are calling "a risky 1st pick", drafted SP Joshua Perry out of Modesto HS. Perry, who has gone 6-0 in 9 starts and held a 1.52 ERA before being drafted, stated Saturday that he "doesn't care what the press thinks" and "just wants to focus on the game". However, critics are claiming the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, who are in their 9th season, passed up a better pitcher. But most scouts think Perry will shine in the future. Nonetheless, Tampa Bay is shockingly in first in their division, and hopes to make a playoff appearance for the first time in franchise history.

News Flash:

The breeze coming in from the ocean left an eerie mark. The AL won the All Star Game today at AT&T Park, 8-4. Barry Bonds, despite steroid controversy, was honored by the San Francisco crowd as he was put in the all star game for the final time, as he is retiring at the end of the season. He did not play, but Jack Cust sure did. He slammed 2 homeruns, a double and drove in 4 RBI's to take the All Star Game MVP award, and help continue the AL's dominance in the Mid Summer Classic. "Our pitching just couldn't get it done", said the NL Manager after the game. The NL started strong, but the AL got 5 unanswered runs. Just as it seemed the NL was making a comeback, Jack Cust shot a 3 run homer. The AL hit 4 homers total as the NL couldn't keep pace.

News Flash:

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays, who have been ahead in their division as the Cinderella team, have been knocked off the top by another Cinderella team: Baltimore. The Orioles are now 2.5 games ahead, but Tampa Bay owns the Wild Card spot so far. With one month left, we will have to see who wins the division. Will it be one of the two Cinderellas, or will the Yankees or Red Sox come back to get in the playoffs. Find out on the next monthly report.

News Flash:

The Playoffs have been set. The big news everyone is talking about is AL Central race ended in a tie. The leaders for much of the season, Kansas City, were bested by the Minnesota Twins. The other news, is that both Baltimore and Tampa Bay have made the playoffs. Tampa Bay won the AL East, for the first time in the 9 year history of the franchise. Baltimore completed a miraculous comeback to win the Wild Card. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have finished with the best record in the league. Meanwhile in the NL, Philadelphia narrowly escaped with the NL East in hands. Milwaukee, who has also been viewed as a contender for the playoffs, finished with the best record in the NL. Arizona won the NL West, and Los Angeles won the Wild Card.

Los Angeles Pronounces Today and only today Bleed Dodger Blue Day!!!

Dominant pitching won the battle. the Tampa Bay Devil Rays were no match to the Dodgers staff, as the Dodgers walk away 2007 World Champions.

In Chad Billingsley's start, he allowed 3 hits through 8 innings, and the rest of the Dodgers followed suit. Tampa Bay was allowed 6 runs this World Series. "We were outmatched in every aspect of the word", said Carl Crawford of the losing Devil Rays. Tampa Bay finished first in the tough AL East, seen as a surprise to everyone. Los Angeles finished second in the NL West, but was good enough to win the Wild Card.
