Dominican leage in this year's roster set?
I always play and manage the Royals in my OOTP games. Last year playing the OOTP 10 version I was dismayed that the Royals organization did not have a "short season" team and I had to make the decision to move a player form rookie ball to single A, or let them sit longer before a promotion. I notice that the Royals have a Dominican Leage team as do a bunch of other orgs. My question is will the roster set include these teams, and will they be set as "short season" so that when my scouting director suggests a player is ready for short season A ball I can send them to the Dominican League.

I kind of figured it might be just a regular rookie level league, but the R's have 4 rookie level teams and no short season A. If the DL was included in this year's set I was going to force one of them into a higher level if possible just so I can stop seeing my scouting director cry about them being ready for short season A when you would think he would realize the org. doesnt have such a level.
On another note, some orgs. have High A, normal A as well, I don't think the game distinguishes this if I am correct. Any way this differentiation can be added to the game? |

You do know that you can add your own short season A team to your organization from the league setup screen.
There is no way at the moment for the game to distinguish High A from Low A.

By rule, MLB teams are only required to have affiliates at the Triple-A, Double-A, High-A, and Low-A levels (all of which are full season). How many affiliates a club has at the Short Season A and Rookie Advanced levels is up to each major league club, other than the proviso that a total of at least 160* affiliates must be supported. Since 120 of those are for the first four levels, that means the remaining 40 affiliates are spread amongst 30 MLB teams. *Note that the AZL, GCL, DSL, and VSL aren't included in that agreement since those leagues are more like instructional leagues rather than true profit-making minor leagues. thanks for the replies all. I guess I will either live with it again or I could just fudge one of the rookie teams into a short season A if I really wanted, but I will probably just keep it the way it is for realism. I just wish the scouting director would have a brain and not tell me to send a guy to short season A since the team doesnt have it.

My philosophy is to send a guy to A if there's no short-season team.

That is normally what I do as long as they have pretty good numbers, sometimes a guy is hitting under 200 or something and they suggest he moves up, I keep him down a bit longer.
