BZ 3207 : Batter ejected after HBP, still on first

In a game today my centerfielder was hit by a pitch and charged the mound. Both he and the pitcher were ejected. The substitution screen came up and I replaced my hothead with the back up centerfielder. Yet, the hothead was still on the broadcast and webcast game screens as the runner on first. He was forced out on the next play. I wonder what would have happened if he had tried to steal?

In the subsequent inning, when I went to defense, everything was fine. The hothead was gone and the backup CF was in the game.

Still loving the game, though.

I can't replicate this at the moment. It's always forcing me to substitute the player who then appears on the webcast.

It may be how I brought him in

Since I'm new to the game, when I brought in my sub, I think I brought him in as the CF at first rather than as a PR. It is my understanding that there are recommended ways of bringing in a sub in OOTP that I am not yet familiar with.

It is possible that you may be able to replicate it by bringing in the sub under PH, PR, or the position involved.

OK. I'll try that and see what I get.

First time posting here, thought I'd do my part to help improve the game.

I've had this happen as well. I had Felix Pie charge the mound after being hit with a pitch, getting himself ejected. I put Ryan Freel in as his replacement (I don't remember if I put him in as PR or LF), and the game commentary and ballpark graphic both insisted it was Pie on first. "Pie" attempt to steal, but the ball was hit (for an out, ending the inning). Once on defense, Freel was in the field and Pie wasn't seen in the game again.

same thing happened to me. Gene Hermanski is hit and ejected in a brawl with Schoolboy Rowe, I'm taken to the lineup screen where I fill Hermanski's now-empty slot, but back to the BNN Broadcast Hermanski's still at first. He eventually scored and was credited properly and all that, but when the Dodgers went on defense in the next inning my substitute was in LF.

I put my replacement in as a LF, not a PR.

Exact same thing happened to me, except as Blue Jays and Scrutaro being the brawler.

Perhaps this should be logged as a bug, since we have several confirmations. If there is a workaround (like don't assign a position until the end of the inning), that would be okay, but I'd like to know before it happens again. Not that big of a deal, though.

For the record, I had it go the other way. I was the pitcher, and the AI was the batter. I replaced my pitcher, and didn't think anything of the runner on base being the same. It wasn't until after the game, while reading the news blurb that I saw we were both ejected. So I don't think this is as simple as a menu selection, if the AI is doing it too.

So, Horks, did the AI's ejected player get taken out after the inning at least? Or did he play the whole game? I would guess that knowing this may help find the problem.

Where exactly is BZ #3207? Search in both logged and closed comes up with nothing.

I don't think it was created from a report in here, so I'll move this to logged and add BZ 3207 to it.

This issue has been claimed fixed for the next patch. If you continue to observe this problem using a later version than 10.0.7, please report it in Tech Support. Thanks.
