Stat error

I just had something happened that someone should look into. i had a runner on second and no outs. I bunted for a sacrifice. The third baseman threw wild for an error. My batter's average went down. He should have had a sacrifice and his average shouldn't have went down

Feel free to move this if it is not in the right place

If there's an error on the play then he didn't get a hit/sacrifice and his avg would drop.

That is not true . You can't punish the batter who sacrifices because the fielder throws wild. You would score it a sacrifice and an error. Now, its a different story if you are bunting for a hit.

Yes, this is correct IF the errant throw were to first. However, if the fielder threw wildly to second trying to get the runner, and in the view of the official scorer a good throw would've gotten the runner, than in that case the batter is not awarded a sacrifice, and instead is charged a fielder's choice, just like if the throw were good and he had gotten the lead runner. You didn't specify where the wild throw occurred.

It was a throw to first.

This appears to be a bug... It was a sac bunt and an error. It should be scored as such. Batter's batting average shouldn't have gone down.
