I want to set up a dynasty for solo play starting in 1970

If I want to import historical players on the proper team at the turn of the year and still draft fictional players in June ... is that possible? If so how do I do it?

You'll need to be in commish mode.

Start your historical league either with or without the Wizard. The option to have a draft should be UNCHECKED. At any time after Jan. 1, go into game setup, league options, and RECHECK amatuer draft box. Adjust draft parameters to your liking, including the desired # of rounds, draft date, etc.; the game will proceed as if youd chosen that option all along.

AFTER the draft, go back and UNCHECK the draft option to resume having real rookies assigned to the proper teams on Jan. 1.

Rinse and repeat for future seasons.

Hi, I was wondering if you could assist me in the setup of a Historical League. I started a MLB League for 1950, and have played through one full season. I am now on Dec. 1951. I ended up with duplicate players such as Willie Mays, etc...

How should I set the options under League Setup - Rules, for the following?
- Trade Rules
- Historical Rookies Options
- Amateur Draft Rules

I would like to have historical players come into the League at the appropriate time, but don't want them assigned to their original teams, and want to avoid duplicate players. Everything else I would like to have set to be historically accurate.
