I'm fairly new at this and am still playing my first season.
I have a couple of players who are due for free agency and have sent email wanting to be resigned. I'd like to resign them, but I have no idea how much to offer, nor do I have any idea how much they want or expect. I tried offering contracts to one player based on comparable players' contracts and he got offended and won't listen any more. Is there any way to find out how much a free agent wants/expects? What are some good ways to determine a player's value? L#13

What is the players current salary, he'll likely want a raise (unless he's really bad). He'll want a salary commesurate with his ratings and age so similar players can be a good first guess... but as you saw is not always a perfect measure.
Sometimes the players will tell you exactly what they expect.. othertimes they wait and then it gets harder. |

If you right click on their names on the bottom of the roster screen then some will tell you what they are looking for and others will not.

Thanks for the replies. That was *fast*.
It turns out that only one player specified an amount of money; the others just say to make them an offer or that they'll test the market. I guess part of the problem may be that the salaries for randomly generated inital draft players seems really kind of random and the market hasn't stabilized yet. L#13
