Can leagues have different number of divisions?

In other words, Can I setup a league that has two leagues, one of which has two divisions and one of which has one divison? Would the playoffs work the way I want them to? I want to have a league championship series in one of the leagues, and have the other winner be decided w/o playoffs.

Any insight is much appreciated

IIRC both leagues need to have the same number of divisions, or yes, the playoffs will get messsed up.
