MLB Fourth of July caps

Opinions? Thoughts?

I'm not sure. I'm kinda riding the fence with these. Brings back memory of the NFL "paintbrush" caps from the 90s.

I wish all the stunt caps would go away, or at least be limited to batting caps/merchandise. I really hate when they make the Giants/Mets/whoever wear red hats, the Cards/Reds wear blue hats, etc. The stars and stripes logos, pride stripe logos, etc are all pretty unobtrusive. But having both teams in baby blue caps so Michael Milken can give a speech? Just no.

And the tone-deafness of some of their stunts is just unbelievable:

I don't mind Michael Milken so much, and for all I care they can dress up as a flag for high holidays. The annual Mother's Day pink scam is pretty breathtaking, but what I really hate are the absolutely ghastly, nonsensical City Connect uniforms shoved down everybody's throat, the abysmal all-white wound dressings teams wore a few years ago for the Players Weekend brainfart, and each time in the World Series, in Game 2 if I'm not mistaken, the gross Stand Up 2 Cancer stunt, that helps nothing, heals nobody, at best ruins everybody's mood, and I very much like Bill Burr's take on it (from 0:57).

I agree with Bill Burr a lot on many things.

Yeah....I have to agree with the City Connect idea. I dont like any of it. I'm a Royals fan and like the fountain graphic they came up with, but not for a baseball uniform.

Not a fan of players wearing any special hats during games. If MLB wants to make the above hats to simply sell them? Sure, I'm okay with that just like I'm okay with them making solid pink hats or trucker hats because different people have different tastes. But, IMO, it looks dumb for players to wear hats that don't match the rest of their uniform (it's called a uniform for a reason

Yes! If you want to make camo, make *proper* camo - have the pitcher toss the baseball from behind a bush, sat squat in the middle of the mound. Hitter's never gonna see it coming.

I see on here as well as on Twitter that i am in the minority. I like these hats and i like most alternate jerseys. The Southside City Connect is my favorite jersey right nwo. i like most camo jerseys.

There are some interesting ideas sprinkled in the city connect stuff, like that logo, and the Miami Sugar Kings stuff that may be better than the Marlins branding

but some of them are barely viewable. The Giants' set is way too white and creamsickle and the Cubs/Dodgers sets look like sanitation worker unis. At some point you're just diluting your brands beyond recognition... minor league promos are their own thing, but I'm not sure I've seen the San Jose Giants' actual home jersey in a couple years (even excluding 2020).
