I get the feeling that....

Markus is going to knock this version out of the park. No pun intended

Actually I am thinking back to the improvements that have been made since the initial SI merger to where the game was last year and I am expecting something off the charts this year. There really isnt anything being added that should mess too much with the foundation that is already in place so I really think this is the version that fixes a lot of these AI issues.

Personally I expect another set of incremental improvements.

One day Markus will program the AI with all of the wisdom from The Book so that it handles a team on the field like Earl Weaver and off it like Whitey Herzog. One day Markus will rewrite the player creation and aging modules to make them more realistic. One day he will redo the pitching model entirely. That will be the day of the home run. But that day will, I think, not come this year. This year we will just get a better game.

For me that will be enough.

I think that this years version will be a marked improvement over OOTP9, but isn't going to set the world on fire with greatness.

I'm hoping it sets the world on fire.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Another useless thread that goes nowhere....if people around here did not have such a post count phobia, we would see only relevant issues raised instead of all of the mindless clutter....

That wouldn't be very realistic. I want a game where the AI is sometimes Earl, sometimes Whitey, and sometimes Jimmie Wilson.

True enough that this thread serves no great purpose (including your contribution to it I presume), but surely it's harmless clutter. And who gets to decide what constitutes a relevant issue? As the old cliche goes, one can always skip future reading of threads once they've been identified as "mindless" by the reader .....

I'd say there's no more useless clutter here than anywhere else. And I include most countries legislatures in that lol. Read Hansard sometime if you don't believe me lol

It'll definitely be an improvement over OOTP 9, which is a damn fine game already.

I propose that every Post on these Fora be approved by Committee and ratified by Council for relevance before the Community at large is exposed to it. All in favour say 'Aye'. If not in favour, make like a horse.

Maybe, but you can add your post to this useless thread which means 5% of your posts are useless. (at least)

Unlike your post, most of the posts on this board are actually discussions about the game. Even the flame wars are usually on topic for some game related issue.

My guess, just based on the last couple of versions of OOTP, there will be one central feature (widgets/pitch ratings?) and minor improvements throughout the rest of the game.

Hopefully I am wrong, and this is the year that Markus does some amazing improvements to the AI other areas that need some attention.

maybe if you left your crappy job and acted like a man once in awhile instead of forgetting the cover sheet on your TPS report. Didn't you get the memo?
