WOW I would like to play OOTP 9

It would be really cool to play OOTP 9 while waiting for the new release. However, my OOTP 9 no longers runs after running successfully since purchase on my laptop with Visita.

I get the crashed on startup error message everytime I load and then OOTP stops working. Cant even get to the Start Menu.

I have plenty of memory (in fact I went out and bought more to ensure that was not the issue)

Don't tell me to post in the tech forum. I and others have done so and are ignored.

Dont tell me to reinstall...been there done that.

Dont tell me to deactivate my anti-virus done that as well.

Dont tell me everyone is too busy with OOTP X production to provide tech support ...I dont care

Any other ideas?????????????

Other than buying Mogul and not OOTP 10??

i had exactly the same problem, and the way i manged to get it back working was to uninstall the game(lucky i had backed up for 40 year histroical league on a different place and only lost 2 seasons), and then i re-downloaded the game TO A DIFFERENT PLACE. I installed it directly to my desktop -c:\user\your namezdesktop, and they everything ran smoothly and i have had 0 errors since.

PS when re-installing this is what i did, went to the ootp 9 download page, SAVED the ootp setup instruction to my desktop and then continued with the installation.

Hope this helps, it worked for me, but i'm no techie expert

Your problem may not be the same as mine but the install to a custom directory worked. It's definitely worth a try.

I had been dead in the water since March.

Are you Running as Administrator? (Right click on the OOTP Icon and select Run as Admin)
