I was looking through the aforementioned file earlier on a test league. I had AI ratings set to 100% on current year stats and noticed a player on my team that had been on the DL the entire season yet had a pitching_value of over 1500. I thought he must have an outstanding pitching_value then if we base ratings on underlying ratings, so I went and changed the AI evaluation to 100% ratings and re-exported. To my surprise his pitching_value came down to below 900!!!

So based on ratings only this guy is about half way down the organisation, but based on current year stats he's one of the top 5 despite having no stats for the current year.

Are these value figures in this file just plucked from the ether? The AI evaluation settings obviously have some point to them otherwise they would be the same, but they don't seem to follow logic.

Unless he is really bad and posting a 0-0 0GS 0.0ERA etc is better than posting a real line.

Maybe Markus can spread some light.

I'm hoping to see some light shed on this, as well, because I was hoping to use some of this data for evaluating player value in my stock market add-on.

If there are no current year stats then the stats from the year before will be used...
