Scouting reports - make no sense
Anybody have any ideas on how to interpret scouting reports in ootp9? (And I ask this as a ootp user since 3 or 4)
I have a highly rated scout, emphasizing tools, who is supposed to be good at rating Prospects, but I get reports like this... - batter: Rates him 5 stars for potential, but report says "Simply hopeless at plate"; sometimes adding something like "...will be lucky to bat .310 in big leagues" Huh? - pitcher: Rated 4 1/2 stars for potential, but report says "Potential to throw batting practice..." - and so on I don't mind some randomness in scouting, ie missing good players or touting bad ones, but the schizophrenia is aggravating, ie polar oppisites btwn stars/numeric ratings and written assessments Which by the way, should I believe? |

I'll give you a guess and suggest that potential ratings rule because they may take into account other player attributes such as favorable personality traits (especially intelligence and work ethic, which may affect future development, and leader ability which is beneficial to team play), defensive skill, endurance, baserunning, etc.

Believe the ratings. There are some issues with the text-based scouting that I'm going to push to get resolved for OOTP-10.
