Maybe it would be faster to get the game on CD

I attempted to download the full install file of the latest patch but was unable to because the download stopped prematurely. So I downloaded the smaller file and tried to install that. I got an error message which suggested I should reinstall. So I uninstalled without realizing I didn't have an install file. I've tried over ten times to download the setup file, on different days, without success. I downloaded a download manager which got it to 99% twice but no further. I need the game for an online league.

I have to ask: is OOTP committed to having a quality web server? Many people have had problems downloading the past couple of years and since I started posting here 5 1/2 years ago the message board has crashed a number of times. I would say at least once a year, probably two to three times a year.

Don't get it on CD. You never know if another patch will come out and then your back in the same situation. Might as well save some money.

Have you tried to see if places like fileplanet have the patch? I'm not sure if they do but its worth a try.

I understand you're upset and I would be too. Might even vent a little on the boards But I've been around since 2002 and the only time I ever have had a problem d'loading, either back in old dial up days, or now is on release day.

Ah release day crashes. I dread that every year.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

If it was on DVD or CD they would have to make a lot but at least it would come with a Manuel and in nice Colorful Medium size box.

I wouldn't like it in a box because it means that extra cost will have spent on getting it sourced, etc.

If it was just one of those standard CD jackets with a square of paper with the OOTP logo on that would be bearable - there is no need for great big boxes for software.

I also don't know what I'd do if I found

inside the box I suppose I could get him to deal with the hispanics on my team

The game has been available on CD for $10 in the past. I don't know if that's the case with this version.
