Scouting nationality question
The manual seems to place great emphasis on what nation your team's scout is in as it relates to how scouting money is distributed.
The manual states: Quote:

The radical vice of all these schemes, from a sociological point of view, is that C is not allowed a voice in the matter, and his position, character, and interests, as well as the ultimate effects on society through C's interests, are entirely overlooked. I call C the Forgotten Man" - William Graham Sumner |

Kurt, I BELIEVE that's supposed to mean 'the nation of his league'. In the case of all MLB-based leagues, that counts as the U.S.A., even if the team is in Toronto or Montreal. All leagues have their own nation designated during creation, even if the teams all play in different nations.
Totally off topic, back in the day (the late 70s) I was a Bevacqua fan. We played the Longball card game (a competitor of Strat-O-Matic, Statis-Pro and APBA) for the 1977 and 1978 seasons, and both years I managed to get Kurt on my Phillies squad that won both the regular season championship and the World Series. He was by no means an all star, but he was a very useful utility player, and he probably finished with the ninth most plate appearances on the team each both seasons. A solid .300 hitter with occaisional pop, decent defence and mediocre speed (at least for me). |
