Logo requests for a big project
Hi,
I am seeking logos for a league I want to start. For starters, I am looking at two leagues, the American Baseball League, and the National Baseball League. The ABL is an east-coast based league, the NBL located on the west coast. The league is old school, with a 30s-40s-50s feel. The league may be set in today's times, but I want an old feel to the league's look. Here are the teams (with color schemes): Baltimore Robins (orange/black) Boston Colonials (red/navy blue) Brooklyn Brown Bombers (brown/yellow) Chicago Barrons (royal blue/gold) (yes, it is spelled "Barrons") Cincinnati Monarchs (red/gold) Cleveland Warriors (maroon/gray) Detroit Wolves (black/white) New York Stars (black/gold) Philadelphia Grays (gray/green) Pittsburgh Alleghenys (silver/black) Washington Nationals (red/white/blue) Boise Hawks (royal blue/orange) Cheyenne Warriors (brown/white) Denver Bears (silver/red/black) Los Angeles Stars (royal blue/silver) Oakland Oaks (green/gold) Phoenix Giants (silver/black) Portland Beavers (navy blue/green) Salt Lake Bees (gold/black) San Diego Friars (brown/gold) San Francisco Seals (navy blue/red) Santa Fe Locomotives (black/silver) Seattle Rainiers (green/silver/white) There are actually six leagues in this, based on region. If someone is willing to assist me with all of those, great. I know it is asking too much; but, I am putting it out there anyway. Thanks in advance, John |

Here are a couple of versions for the Baltimore Ravens. Tried to keep them simple for the era.. I know the one is more of a 60's/70's style, probably..

That Robins logo looks old-school to me. The design is simple in a 20s art-deco way.

Excellent. One small request...can the Philly Grays logo be an old script P-G or something (I am thinking like the University of Miami logo). I should have specified that, and for that, I apologize.
Where are you finding these logos? |

I had originally planned on doing the Philly logo in an old english script. But since i had done a few similiar I tried something else. Most of the logo's Im just finding by searching images in google. Some I modified a little. (Robins logo is from a Stamford Robins logo, and the Cleveland Warriors is based off of the old Syracuse Chiefs logo)

I like the white one with the P. I was thinking of the old New York Giants logo (current Mets logo), but I'm not sure it would work. I just couldn't put it into words yesterday. ; )
That P is fantastic though. It's classic, which is the feel I am going for. Thank you. |

I'm using photoshop. To get the text to curve like this, you need to set up paths. If you have photoshop, I can send you the file I have.
And.. here are some more.. Im having a more difficult time trying to decide on the logos, so Im showing a few options.. |

Mr. Comey,
Here is my attempt to help. I hope it has the old school look you want for your project. |

Tom,
Looks great. May have to put that into a circular logo, to work with the rest of them (as I'll be trying to go for a uniformed look. But I do like it. Thank you. Here are some ones I've been looking up. Tell me what you think and if they're feasible: Cheyenne Warriors: http://gocatawbaindians.athleticsite...ChiefsLogo.jpg Denver Bears: http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...-LOGO-2008.jpg (just the DB, really). I'll keep looking some up, and try to help any way I can. So far, this is going so much better than I ever thought. I'd like to learn how to do these on my own (as I said before, my universe is 72 teams big, and may grow to 96 if I add an A-level league, which I may have to do). Every time I go to try them, I always end up frustrated. |
