Save Oppurtunities?
I just noticed that when you pitch in the bottom of an extra inning game on with the lead it does not count as a save oppurtunity... Why not?

If you're the visiting team and you score in the top of the inning, the pitcher who gets the last three outs would be the game winner, thats why no save is involved

Hmm, that however depends on the timing of the pitching change.
The winning pitcher is the pitcher listed on the mound during the time the lead was taken. If you change the pitcher in the bottom of the inning, that pitcher relieves the previous pitcher and is now in a save situation. |

You are correct,so I guess the only way it isn't a save opportunity is if he pinch hit for the pitcher before he took the lead?

Now if the team scored 4 or more runs in the 12th then it would not be a save opp until the home team either scored a run or put the tying run in the on deck circle and then only if a new pitcher was brought in at that point.
