PBP Question

Is there any way to save in the middle of playing out a game?

Unfortunately, no. That would be kind of cool, though.

I wish you could....I can't tell you how many times I've been early in a game, had to reboot my computer right there or had to switch to my other league to make an export or something.....

Just had to sim the rest of the game without playing it out

Not sure if this is really unfortunate. It provides just a way of cheating, since you can save your game when you lead the game and just reload it if you lost the advance.

I think it's unfortunate. I've been playing BM and it has in game saves. There are lots of times when I feel like - or have time for - playing a few innings. And then coming back to the same game later. I'm looking at OOTP and not being able to save in-game is a definite minus and will affect my decision about whether or not to purchase.

Those who are prone to cheating will find a way regardless.

Hey Sam... just wanted to let you know I was once a VERY big supporter of BM... I been playing the game since it first came out in 1998... but despite the fact that you cant save the game in the middle of the game... I suggest you buy it... ever since I bought OOTP I have yet to touch BM since then.... (I bought it like 2 months ago) It will take awhile to get used too.... but these guys are very helpful when you ask questions. I stopped playing BM because one of the mods made me feel like I was inferior there... and never again have I really wanted to come back like I used too... these guys dont make you feel that way. If you ever went on the boards there.... you may know me Im Bbmogullover21

This sounds a bit Double Dutch to me. If you save the game and then advance to the end and then shut the program down the game is autosaved anyway so you wouldn't be able to cheat.
And if you control-alt-delete to cheat now, well not having an in-game save isn't going to make you change your mind.

I never had a problem with the mods over there. But I think in general OOTP is a superior game. The pbp is totally different, graphics based vs text based and both have advantages but I think I like text better. A lot more flexibility here also. I'll be checking it out and will decide in a few days.
