Unwanted Fictional players

I have been playing out a historcal league using the reserve roster, but after several years I decided to change that and add a minor leage. After I added the minor league, I am now getting fictional players showing up as free agents. How do I stop this from happening? I have it set to not allow them in the majors, but it is a pain to look through the free agents to see who is real and who is not.

I don't believe there is a way to weed them out of the FA pool in that case.

Will using ghost players prevent this from happening?

If you use ghost players and completely eliminate the fictional ones, of course.
