Has this ever happened?

Even in the major leagues??

This guy had been kicking around the minors for 5 years, he's only a 30 overall and potential, first career major league start - A NO HITTER!!!

Unfortunately, this isn't my team. Never had a no-hitter thrown for or against me!

No, but in Baseball Mogul I once had a relief pitcher credited with throwing a no-hitter on a day he didn't even pitch.

No, but I had a guy, Bubba " The Pilgram" Ashburn currently in my 6.5 league that had just 27 career AB's spanning 4 season hit 3 homers in a game.

That seems pretty cool to me.

That is awesome stuff, here's the history. The Cincinnati Reds Bumpus Jones threw a no-hitter in his first Major League start on October 15,1892.He pitched in only seven more games after that finishing with a career record of 2-4 with a 7.99 ERA. Ted Breitenstein of the Cardinals also pitched a no hitter in his first big league start on October 4,1891,but it wasn't his first big league game.Oddly enough,he also pitched a second no hitter on April 22,1898

Thats just great. Before I found OOTP,I found BM.In my second game,I pitched a no hitter with Ray Culp of the 1964 Phillies.Believe it or not that really took the starch out of the game for me and I stopped playing it shortly after.I found OOTP a year later when ironicly enough,I was looking to see if the historical aspect of BM 2009 was improved, instead I found a review for OOTP 8 on OS,from there I checked out the site and the forum and finally in April of this year purchased the game, the rest as they say is history....

5 years and there's been 2 no-hitters in my league (not including the minors). I've probably had 5-6 no hitters and a perfect game if I include all four levels.

It's good to see the frequency is very realistic though

In a season an a couple of months,I've had one no hitter, thrown by Clark Griffith of the New York Highlanders on April 22,1905. Ironicly it was against the Washington Senators, the team he played for, managed, and eventually owned. In 1920 their stadium National Park, changed its name to Griffith Stadium in honor of him

I just had a second string second baseman hit three homers in a game.

I just had this happen to me [from my box score game recap]:

Quote:
Two Homers By Yankee Pitcher Beat Nats 6-4

Yes, you read the headline correctly. Yankees SP Noritoshi Ohashi hit two home runs today, helping himself to his eighth win this year versus five losses. Who knew he could hit home runs? As of right now, he has half as many homers, in one game, as Andy Johnson [my powerless but otherwise trusty second baseman] has had in his six year career! Look for Ohashi to catch him the next time he pitches in an interleague game. Shades of Babe Ruth!
That this kind of stuff can happen, but rarely and unexpectedly as in real life, is one of the things that makes OOTPB a great game.

I have played ootp for quite a while, playing out every game for my team, but I never had a a no-hitter thrown by one of my guys.

A kid I picked up off waivers the previous year goes on to throw two no-hitters in the span of four games. It's been a season and a half plus since then, and he's still listed as both nationally and locally unknown.

I called our league's Hall of Fame to see if they wanted the jersey he wore for both games, but they just asked "Who?"

From Wikipedia--

On 6 May 1953, Bobo Holloman pitched a no-hitter for the St. Louis Browns in his first major league start (not his first major league game). This game would prove to be one of only three major league wins that Holloman achieved, against seven losses, all in 1953. Bill Veeck, then-owner of the Browns, in his autobiography described the 27 outs of Holloman's no-hitter as consisting of hard-hit ground balls, screaming line drives, and deep fly balls.

For the record - this guy has made three starts since:

1 - 6.1 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, win
2 - 5.1 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, ND
3 - 7 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, ND

2.60 ERA through 4 starts - looks like he's staying respectable for now!

I almost did it.

Came within 3 outs of a PERFECT GAME with a very similar pitcher. Leadoff single in the 9th took it away

Someday.....it will happen.....

In 65 seasons of my solo league there have been 127 No-hitters including 14 perfect games. The last perfecto was 2055 and it is now in the 2071 season.

Any thoughts on why there have been no no-hitters for 16 years? Is pitcher endurance even worse in the future?

There have been no hitters. Just no perfect games since 2055.
