Signing Coaches
OK, I'm sure this is somewhere on these boards, but I couldn't find it.
I'm trying to sign a coach to an extension. When I go to the offer page I get the following message: "Comment from Norman Blum I would sign a 2-year extension, for $2,470 per season." OK, I offer $2,470 for 2 seasons. I get an e-mail: "I am sorry, but you will have to increase the salary in your offer if you want to employ me in the future." Huh? You said you wanted $2,470 a season for 2 years!! I try again. I get the same comment. 2-year extension for $2,470 per season. I offer 2 years at $3,400 per season. Same e-mail. So, what's the deal? |

I had the same thing happen to me last night.
What did I do? Commish edit for the initial offer that he said he'd accept. That'll teach him ![]() But as far as an explanation, I have no idea. I just wanted to second this anomaly. |

I've had it with 9.2.2 also. This particular offseason was the first time I ever recall having this issue.

i'd cut him loose after the first refusal and promote a minors coach...that will teach him...i'm in charge here, you don't matter.

Ditto. Usually, the default offer in the salary box is actually the amount he's looking for and that the year's can sometimes be adjusted.

yes I've only noticed this with the latest patch. the default values that are filled in the boxes is actually what the coach is asking for...not what the message says. At least based on what I've observed.

I had a good one.
A free agent coach was asking for $180,000 for two years. I offered, he refused saying he had a better offer so please up my offer. I upped to $200,000 for three years. He refused saying he had a better offer so please up my offer. I offered $225,000 for three years. He refused saying he had a better offer so please up my offer. OK then . . . . I offered $2,000,000 for two years. He refused saying he had a better offer so please up my offer. Uh huh. He's still a FA.
