Injured player playing?

I noticed my AI allowed a player who is day to day and expected to miss 4 days however it states he is 100 % Completely rested but still says day to day on his bio page was allowed to start the game.... does the game not insert other players when someone is hurt?

Also I put for Auto play to stop whenever someone got hurt... even though I dont auto play.... shouldnt I have received a message telling me he was hurt? Although I dont auto play... doesnt mean I check every SINGLE game.... my players and if they are hurt

First, day to day injuries aren't total incapacitation for X number of days; they're a percentage of ability lost for X days. For example, a player might have a 20% day-to-day injury for six days. That means that for the next six days he plays at 80% of his normal capacity. If his backup is only 75% as good as the injured player, then the injured guy will play through his injury. It might even happen if the replacement is better than the injured player (because there's a provision in the depth chart to replace if tired, but not one to replace if injured), but I've never been in that situation, so I'm just guessing.

Second, the same thing happened to me in my first game. The game is operating as designed, though it certainly would be a nice feature to receive a message for the manager when injuries occur. You will sometimes receive notification (it just happened to me when I lost my starting first baseman for seven weeks), but not always, and probably never if the player is day-to-day, and maybe not if he's a minor leaguer. The notification I received was a news report on my team's front (or main) page, not in a telegram/e-mail.

The only solution I know of is to check your team roster ('All Players of Organization') every day and see if the number of red crosses has changed. Note that you'll have to place players on the disabled list yourself; the game engine won't do it for you.

There is an option in the "Managers Options" where you can select to exit auto-play on an occurance of a Day to Day injury and select the limit.
Not tested it but I would like to think if it stops the auto-play it would give a message as to why.

Yes, but Cubfan2001 is not using autoplay. Do you know of a way to get a message sent to managers who play out their games?

The option says "Alert me when performance drops by X%" and you set the X. Is this not working?

Where did you see that? It's not under Manager options (I just checked).

Even if you play out each game you have to "auto-play" at some time.....to get to the next day.
It would be at this point, if the options were selected, that a DTD injury would be reported.

Have you actually seen this happen, or are you making the logical interpretation?

I play out my games, I have those settings, and I don't remember ever getting those messages. Of course, I have injuries set to 'very low', so I may not be the best person to check this.

What have you got the DTD limit set to?

'When a player is injured' and 'When a player suffers a DTD injury' are both set to 'No limit' because I had them set to the minimums previously and wasn't receiving notification — which I DID verify.

I think the real problem is that that screen says nothing about notifying you. All it says is that it will stop autoplay if the specified circumstances occur, and autoplay would be stopping anyway since you're only hitting 'Play Day'.

Has anyone else seen cbbl's "Alert Me" option, and if so, where should we look for it?

I take it this is not the option in the "Manager's Options".

If it is it's worded differrently in your version.

I have seen it now!
Set up a test league.
Injury Frequency - Very High
Manager Options - Exit Auto Play...
No limit on both when a player is injured and DTD injury.

Played out the games and a DTD injury notification occurred as I selected the "leave game" button after finishing a game.
Appeared as a pop-up box over the top of the profile of the player who is DTD. (Just the same for when a player is injured).
No message appeared in my News section (a message would have for an out and out injury).
But an alert did happen (and does) if you play out games.

(BTW I didn't do this to prove a point...I was just curious and thought it might be helpful....and I had to play OOTP for 25 games before a DTD injury happened...even on very high injury frequency....but I didn't mind )
