Updated my system to Windows XP, lost OOTP4 License ????

HELP !

Hey fellas,

I just updated my system from Windows 98 to Windows XP.

When I try to startup OOTP4, it asks for my license.

Why would it un-install this?

Where can I find my original copy of my license on my hard drive???

Help !

If you just upgraded and didnt format the drive or anything, then in your OOTP4 folder there should be a text file with the number to plug in

Thanks for the quick replay Nukester.

I have looked over just about every file in my OOTP4 folder.

Any idea what the name of this text file is?

I dont see it offhand....

While I havent had to do this since OOTP3 (I am using STB2K3 this time around........smacks self on forehead and still praying for final patch) in your OOTP4 folder there should be a text file with a long number/alpha combo to it. If opening your game comes to a screen asking for the license, it should tell you what to do. I think (not positive) it tells you a website to go and they will e-mail your license number to you.....something like that. Sorry I can't be more specific but I thought with this advice you might have a chance to be playing by now.

Should have a file receipt.txt in your OOTP4 folder. The Order ID is what you need. If it isn't there, try control panel -> elicense control - > Out of the park. Right click on OOTP and select receipt to get info.

If you can't find the license number, contact ViaTech customer support at (508) 647-0464 or email support@elicense.com; they should be able to help you (info per the manual, hopefully isn't outdated).

IIRC XP has user profiles (I don't use it). I remember some people experiencing problems with XP as it would only liscence the game in one of the user profiles, but the other profiles would have to be re-liscenced.

You should do a search on the board, because I really remember some similar issues to this being discussed, and those posts may give you some tips how to handle it.

If you contact eLicence from the address you registered from, they can nuke your old licence and give you a new one.
