bad imports
I'll start here to see if anyone else has seen this problem. I did an export (using 2007/8). For two of the owners their lineups/rosters are scrambled - players from different teams on their rosters). For everyone else, the file looks fine. Even if these two owners reload the league file, their rosters are scrambled. We've tried 1) re-exporting; 2)Sim a few days and esport and create a new league file, 3)uninstall/re-install. Nothing clears the problem. This occurred to one owner a month ago and he left the league, he was so fed up.
Any thoughts? Thanks Bill |

1. Have your league members in question go to their data/saved_games folder and completely delete the entire league file, folder and all.
2. Have the commissioner of the league copy ONLY the .DAT files for the league and place them into another empty folder named the same as your league folder(i.e. bigleague.lg). Zip it and give it to all the league members having issues. 3. League members in question should unzip and copy the whole folder (i.e."bigleague.lg") into their data/saved_games folder 4. Fire up the game and open the the league. That will work.

Dola. Make sure they are using the same version of the game as the commissioner!

Thanks,
We know that will correct the problem. It is how to prevent the problem. Is there an issue with a league which owner use both 2007 and 2008? I thought they were compatible.

OOTP8 and OOTP 2007 are compatible. My league has no problems with exports coming from either version. The main thing is that everyone has the latest patch. If not, there may be some problems.

This problem refuses to go away. We reset every to the a new league file, ensured everyone was using the current file. Now it has happenned again. This time betweeen the end of ST and the regular season.
The only known method of correction is for me to produce a full file and not to have people checking for league updates. This is most frustrating. It must be something in the export or league settings. Has this never occurred before?? Thanks Bill

My OOTP9 online league has this problem every once in a while. An owner will not be able to update via "Load Online League File" and I'll have to get him a new copy of the league folder.
I've been assuming that it's because of some human error somewhere along the line. |

That was my suspicion at first because only a couple of people had the problem. This time I know of 5 who had problems and 2 who didn't. I ziped up the full league file and that solved the problem, but it is very time consuming on both ends.
We are on 2007/8 and the current patch level. My only "guess" is that it has something to do with the names.dat file. When I look at the CSV files you can see references player ID in several places. If these got out of sync somehow, that would explain the results being seen. It has to be in the export, because if they go back to a provious version (I always keep one posted on the site) and then import, then problem still exists. There are two possibilities as I see it. The export is partially bad or someone's import corrupts the information and that is pushed back out via the export. The game never indicates any errors, so you are led to believe everything is fine.
