No-trade clause
If a player I have has one of these, then is there a list of teams he'd be willing to be traded to that I can see?

You can't trade players with no-trade clauses.

Haha, thought it was like a real life one where they could veto a trade to a team they didn't want to go to. Just kidding then

I'm not ready to rule out any possibility of a trade being approved by the player. IMHO, it might, but the chances would be extremely rare. In your position, you might decide to experiment a bit and see if the standard response is always, "The player exercises his no-trade clause..." There may very well be circumstances in which he may decide not to use it. I believe that's within his rights and, unless Markus says differently, remains a rare, but possible, option for the player.

Just for the hell of it I decided to test this out. With my Yankees I singed Matt Stairs to a contract with a no-trade clause. I then went into the editor to put all his morale ratings at -500 and his loyalty at 1.
I then traded him and $5,000,000 to the World Champion Cleveland Indians for a 22-year old minor elague scrub. They accepted and there seems to be no problem, so I don't know I guess they can waive a no-trade clause? |
