Increased Trade Deadline Activity?

I was simming as the '02 Mariners. And in true Mariner fashion, we were terrible. I was hoping to unload some of my upcoming FAs (Boone, Olerud, etc) to a contender looking for a strong bat but none came calling.

Is there a setting I missed that would simulate the barrage of offers/trades that happen around the trade deadline?

There's no setting. I typically see a large uptick in trade offers at the end of July. Perhaps your guys you seek to move are no good.

I recently passed the deadline in my fictional league and noted a large amount of trades in the last day or two of July. I capitalized on the hoopla by getting some guys from their new teams for less than what their old wanted.
