Where do I find my modified first names .txt file ?
Back in OOTP7 I modified the first_names.txt file and it's still being used in my league. I wanted to copy the file and send it to someone for them to use, but I can't figure out where the modified file resides (I'm using OOTP9 with the latest patches). In the OOTP9 folder (I think -I'm at work so I can't check right now) I see the unmodified .txt file, but can someone direct me to the location of my modified text file that's being used in my league ? Thanks.

My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9\database
That's where it is on my computer.

I found that, but it's not the .txt file I modified. Would the one that's used for my league be with my saved games somewhere ?

From the manual -
"The name files come into play only once: at the creation of a game. At that time, all the names in the name files are converted into a .dat file that is stored in the saved game directory. The names.dat file is then used by the game to dole out names during two scenarios in the game: when new players are created, and when new coaches are created." So your modified .txt file is not saved with your saved game. |
