I am playing in my indy league I have set up with a salary cap of $100K. My current payroll is actually at like 116K somehow, but I have a more pressing issue than that...
I have by far, he best offensive team in the league. I also have several of these players becoming free agents next year, and my next year payroll is only at 57K. This should leave me plenty of room to sign some of these guys longterm. However, it says I have no room for extensions next year and it won't let me resign these players. This makes no sense...I understand I am over the cap right now, but how can I not sign players to extensions when I have so much money available next year? The contracts I would be signing these players to is not going to count against this years cap anyways, it will be counting towards next years, so there should be no reason why it doesn't let me sign these players... This is something that has not worked right for quite some time now and it is about time it gets fixed properly...it takes a lot of fun out of the game when I am forced to sit and watch guys I want to sign to extensions become free agents and sign elsewhere when I could lock them up longterm...

If this bug is still around, its been here a while. I have seen it since at least 2006. You might want to post this in tech support as well, maybe you can get a tracking number attached to it and hopefully it will get fixed in a patch.

This has been worked on during beta, and everything works here... I bet there is a simple explanation for your problem. I suggest sending me your .dat files (markus@ootpdevelopments.com), I'll have a look at them and tell you why the game does not allow an offer.
