What's in a name?

Hey... just some random thoughts..

First... does it bother anyone else when you get a player in OOTP with a really cool name, and you hope he becomes a star, but then his ratings end up being crap? And likewise, when you have a star, with a really horrid name ... That kind of thing bugs me, and sometimes I change the names... but I normally like to keep em the way they are...

Also, as far as names go ... What are some of the "coolest" names you guys have come across when playing the game? (basically just the names you thought sounded the best I suppose

Sorry for the randomness of the post... but I suppose it's something to talk about

It was weird seeing someone with that last name. I've never known a person to have that last name in real life and so far he's the only one to have it in my league.

One of the most "interesting" names I ever had was a guy that is currently in my solo league known as Hugh Sak ... (yes, say it out loud and giggle boys and girls, it's some potty mouth humour

As for just the coolest overall name ... I liked Ty Smith ... plain, simple, and just begging to be a speedy, black centerfielder..... which he was

OK, seriously:

Tim Faraday (big power hitting 1B)
Salvatore Gaona (triple crown talent, can't run worth a damn)
Ross Provenzano (#4 starter, never played to potential)
Francisco Fuentes (stole 83 bases, hit .274 with a 4 rating)
Philip Goldsberry (aging slugger)

I liked the occasional Latino Jew that would pop up in OOTP3 (pre-separate name files)

Jose Rubinstein & Juan Greenberg come to mind
