Where can I get more pitchers?

In order to learn the mechanics of OOTP, I took over as manager of a Triple A franchise. In my beginning roster, I got 5 starting pitchers (one was injured) and 1 reliever. No closer, no nothing. So I am stuck with a 4-man rotation and the same reliever for every game.

Can I get some more pitchers myself or am I at the mercy of my parent club to supply the pitching staff? If I can, how do I get more pitchers on my staff?

Thanks.

Well, that's the problem of managing in the minor leagues in a nutshell. You are at the mercy of your AI GM boss in this regard.

You could cheat a bit by assuming Commissioner powers (Manager, Options), going to the Free Agents page, and editing a player in order to just assign him to your team arbitrarily. The problem with that, however, is your boss is likely to promote or demote him elsewhere anyway.

Thanks for your speedy answer, although it wasn't necessarily the one I wanted to hear.

It all becomes a moot point anyway as now my game won't even load. As soon as it gets to 'finalizing database', I get an error message and get kicked out. I don't understand as the game worked perfectly yesterday.
Is there any way of fixing this without having to start another season all over again?

Help?

Well hopefully you backed up your league; that's gospel around here. I can tell you in the future put yourself in commissioner mode, and go to your AAA teams roster page. On the Action button at the bottom you can select fill team with fictional players to fill in the holes in your roster bringing it up to 25 players.

Thanks for the heads-up, Ty. I didn't realize that option was available, but now I will use it religiously. I re-installed the game and got a full roster this time.

Thanks again.
