BZ 1749: Career fielding data mistake
This is no major thing but I have noticed that players who played a position for less than 1 inning don't show it in their career fielding stats that way.
For example, Joe Blow pitched 2/3 of an inning one season. His real life fielding stats show him playing 8 2/3 inning. Of course, if they didn't even manage to get 1/3 inning it shows they played 8 innings. This only happens for players with less than 1 inning. Once they reach 1 inning the */3 show up correctly. I can't reproduce this issue. I subbed in a whole lineup after 8.1 in a game, and then retired those players at the end of the game and saved it and loaded it and they all showed 0.2 as their IP for fielding.
Could you get a screenshot of the 8.1/8.2 issue along with the game log listing for that player?

The best place to see it if using lahman is the pitchers who pitched less than 1 inning. Check out their defensive stats and you will see it showing they played 8.* innings at pitchers while their actual innings pitched is less than 1. I have put in the actual innings played by all players and this is my own personal database that I use and it does it to position players as well. It's not a big issue, but it's just a little annoying cosmetic thing to me. If it doesn't get fixed so be it, I'll survive. I just wanted to point it out. I have no problem reproducing it. I'll give you some players to import and you can see for yourself....
navarju01 ..... 1966 He had no IP but his real defense stats will show 8 innings played while his real pitching stats are accurate in showing 0 IP. Another player is .... nelsome01 .... 1967 His real pitching stats will show .1 IP but his real fielding stats will show 8.1 innings. |
