How to change the starting teams in Gambo database?

Downladed and started a game. Found that alot of players were retired ingame? What causes this? For example: Started game in 1988. Ken Griffey Jr is retired when the game begins.

Anyone know why this is? And is there anything that I can do to change starting teams in the data to prevent this from happening? Thanks.

it's because he was a minor leaguer this year. You have to unretire and assigne those players to their real team with the editor. I don't think that you can prevent this.
