The "Name the Next OOTP Release" Thread

Reading all of the official statements from Markus, it seems the next version of OOTP is slated to be named OOTP5.

I, for one, think that OOTP could sharpen its image by giving the next release a catchy new name.

Something like OOTP '03. Anything but the next number in the sequence.

I honestly think a new name would help out the game a lot, from a marketing perspective.

Just my two cents.

PS: I've trademarked the name OOTP '03 as of now. Should this name be used, I will be entitled to 95% of all profits in perpetuity throughout the universe.

I'm guessing the "PS" was a joke....

Changing the name of the game, won't really make much of a difference to sales. The reason being is... most people learn about this from word of mouth, so the title isn't really the thing that makes them buy the game.

It could be called "Out of the grass, dirt, and gravel", I'd still buy it.

I don't think they'd call it OOTP '03... some people would confuse it with OOTP3.

OOPT 6? Hey, if Netscape can skip a version number, then so can 400.

Here's an idea... OOTP '05

Sice the big guns like Sega and EA somehow ended up a year ahead (World Series Baseball 2K3 and Triple Play 2003 in 2002????) why can't .400 Studios start anew trend and go TWO years ahead!

How about "The Best Damn Baseball Simulation". No .. that's right. Only swear in the title if your product stinks (too all you non-cable people, I'm refering to the Best Damn Sports Show) .

I like Steve's suggestion the best.
