Generating Schedule for Minor Leagues

I'm playing a full MLB league game, and I want to be sure that the Minor leagues get to simulate / play their games. I've advanced the date to February 4, 2009 in advance of the 2009 season... the MLB schedule has just been generated, but none of the minor leagues show any game schedules yet. I want to be sure that this will happen, or if there's something I need to do for those schedules to be generated.

It shows LSDL files as where the schedule will be loaded from (e.g., international_league_aaa_c_2005.lsdl for the Int'l league). I just don't know what will trigger the schedules to be created for these minor leagues.

Thanks.

You can check it (at any time, not just preseason - it must be preseason to make schedule changes but you can look at schedules any time, I believe) by going to League Setup, Functions, Edit League Schedule. Find the drop-down menu on the top right to Select (minor) League. Then click Schedule, Report: Grid (Report: Evaluation is another handy tool). That should tell you whether the games have been scheduled properly. I'm pretty sure that all schedules in your game get set up on the first day of preseason.

Great info, thanks! It does correctly show games in that grid scheduled for April for the regular minors and June for the short season leagues.

When I pick a particular team like my AAA Iowa Cubs, though, and look at their upcoming schedule for April, no games are showing like they do now for the major league teams. But hopefully those will show up closer to the time of the actual games.

Thanks again!

Just for our information, when I advanced the game a couple of more days, it then generated the complete schedule for the minor league teams who start play in April... exactly two months before the first game is to be played. It's a little odd that it generates that report grid immediately, but the team schedules later on, but that's what it does. It hasn't generated the short season team-by-team schedules yet but presumably will do that two months before they start play.

It creates schedules when the league enters pre-season, and yes, that is 2 months before the season begins.
