Weird Player (Ratings)
Check out the ratings of the following guy and his stats.
![]() This is easily the weirdist player I have ever seen (In real life or OOTP). The guy has amazing patience, rarely strikes out, has great speed, can bunt for hits, hits for power, yet his babip is a pathetic .216 right now in AA. Now I ofcourse don't know his real ratings and im not going to check them since im playing with scouting enabled, but his stats in AA kind of verify that those potential ratings are probably somewhat accurate. Only way I can think of to explain it is that he hits alot of high fly balls, but hes a spray hitter ![]() Has there ever been a player like this in real life? |

These might be close...there are a bunch more, I just took the top 14 or so. Not much speed overall, but the rest fits pretty well.

Not sure about real life, but I've seen several guys like that in OOTP9. That 37 contact is usually the crucial rating that dooms them in my leagues. When they hit the ball it might go somewhere, but they just don't hit it often enough to make it. I always think of them as sort of like a Dave Kingman with speed and who doesn't strike out. Which come to think of it isn't much like Dave Kingman!!!!

I can find a few guys in the minors this year that are closer matches to your OOTP guy because they have a little speed, too.

I am most amused by the fact he is speedy, a great 1b, and his nick name is lumpy.
