Schedule Fine in Pre-Season, Messed Up on Opening Day

I'm setting up a 1901 league with 16-teams, but four divisions. I wanted an unbalanced schedule, interleague play, All-Star game, three-game series typically. Starting on April 1.

On January 1, I had the game generate a schedule. Fine, looked good.

Then I simmed to opening day, and the schedules had changed. I looked more closely, and some of the teams were scheduled to play both spring training and regular season games for the first week and one half.

I can't figure out a way to have Spring Training, and make this work. What am I missing here?

I did find that when I eliminated Spring Training, the schedules are fine.
