Could Not Load Faces File
I was currently playing out a league for which I turned into a dynasty:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...r-1916-a.html? On the turn of the year after the first season (it appeared to be when it was attempting to save pictures on the turn of the season - which it was set to do once per year) -- the file crashed and became corrupt. message reads: DATABASE::load_database - could not load faces file I did have a backup of the file from a few months before the crash, but cannot load it properly because now I can't open the file and get this message each time. From what I understand you are supposed to load backups from within the file you backed up? I am not supposed to go to the folder and simply move in and replace the corrupted file? Is this file lost? Is there anyway to fix this? I'm running XP, my computer is a monster, 8800GTX, 2.66 ghz duo 6700, 4 gm ram....I'm fairly certain it's not a hardware issue. I HAVE NOT updated to the most recent patch as all of the fixes listed did not concern me. Let me know what other info you might need or if I can send the file to somebody that could possibly fix it. thanks very much |

If you've got a backup, you should be able to copy the faces.dat from it into your league folder and it should work.
I say should, because in v9 the file structure has changed so that the game date is stored in each file and I'm not sure how that will affect the game loading if the faces.dat is from a few months earlier.

god bless Tony M!
File has been saved. I copied the faces file from the backup and copied over the old one...........and it runs perfectly. For some reason the faces which was not working had become 0 KB in size. Thanks very much for the response. |

I'm glad to hear that this worked for you. I'll close this out for now, but if you need any further help, please don't hesitate to post in Tech Support. Thanks.
