Should this be a HOLD ????
Top of the 9th
Angels vs Brewers. Gary Lucas to pitch for Angels and gets first out on a ground out. Second batter he faces gets onboard with a BB. Angels puts Bryan Harvey on the mound with runner on first and 1 out. I thought a Hold is when a pitcher gets on the mound HOLDING one or more runners and gets one hold for each NOT scoring. This scoring shows Gary Lucas gets a HOLD and Harvey the save ??? should Harvey get a hold instead of Lucas together with the save <TABLE class=lpo style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 12px" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=1 width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD class=h4 style="PADDING-BOTTOM: 4px; PADDING-TOP: 4px; TEXT-ALIGN: left" colSpan=2>Top of the 9th - Milwaukee Brewers batting - Pitching for California Angels : RHP M. A hold is a stat for a reliever that doesn't qualify for a save. If he comes in and doesn't give up the lead he gets a hold... then the next pitcher finished off that game and got a save.

Holds don't make much sense anyhow.
![]() What you were thinking of was an inherited runner, Harvey would get the save, he'd have 1 inherited runner and 0 inherited runners scored. The game doesn't track inherited runners though, at least not now.
