because 500hr probably won't been seen for some time? what are you vets doing for your history league? |

The HOF 'requirements' are simply the minimum statistics that a player would need to achieve in certain categories to be automatically inducted into the HOF by the game. As the human player, you have the ability to manually induct any player you'd like into the HOF.
Personally, I jack up all of the minimum stats high enough so that the game doesn't automatically induct anyone into the HOF. I prefer to choose the inductees myself. If you are following history, however, I think it would be a good idea to change those minimum requirements. You'd probably want to increase the minimum batting average for automatic induction, and reduce the minimum homeruns. For the first half of the twentieth century, though, homerun totals were probably not the deciding factor for any player's induction into the HOF.

thanks for that, I will do that but I will look at doing manually which should be fun.
How long after a plater retires that the computer selects them? if they retired in 1902 when are they eligible? is it 5 years? |

I believe that the computer selects them right after they retire, although that may have been changed in OOTP9 and I missed it.
