Not Much More Basic Than This

I've recently purchased OOTP 9,and have become fairly familar than this. I'd like to start an historical league beginning in 1967, and carry my beloved Red Sox into the present. What game settings, financial and on-the -field, would be the best settings to carry this out?

That really depends. Do you want accurate financials? Do you want players developing exactly (or damn close to it) as they did in real life? Or only similar to RL? Or nothing at all like it? Do you want major league baseball to expand as it really did? Do you want scoring environments to be similar to real life?

Lots of options.

1) Yes!
2) Only similar to real life
3) Expansion, Si!
4) Scoring enviroments (ball park factors?) Yes!

Question 2: How do you include minor league players in trade talks?

In the trade menu, click on the dropdown arrow above the player's you can already see, you should see all the teams in that org. Click on the team you want to look at, and you can add those players to the trade discussions.

Okay, well then you want to go to League Setup > Options when creating the game and select Import Adjusted Financials for each year, plus Automatically Adjust League Strategy, plus Automatically Expand, plus Automatically Adjust League Total Modifiers. For similar to real life, three year recalc might be best (I never use recalc, myself).

Thanks! Just to be sure, how can I ensure that anything financial involving free agency won't start until it historically did? (For the 1976 season, I believe)
