Importing Historical Players with custom Nations.dat

i set up a West Coast Baseball world, where the states of CA, AZ, OR, WA, and NV are now "Nations" in my baseball universe. i want to import all current major leaguers from these states. i've edited the master.csv in Lahman so that the nation field now has the above abbreviations, matching the abbreviations in the nations part of the db.

2 questions,

1) am i going to have to import individuals individually into the game or can i batch import them?

2) why is OOTP9 crashing when i try to import individuals???
