Can you merge leagues from different game files

Just curious: if you've got leagues in separate game files that are at the same point in time (say Jan. 1, 2000), can you merge them and have both leagues in the same file...

For example, I started a China Baseball League and I've thought about merging that with one of my regular MLB leagues -- maybe have teams from each league play each other for exhibition, possibly trade a few players here and there. But they were created in two separate files.

If this isn't possible, can you export teams from one league file into another? How about single players?

Thanks for any help, carry on...

Merging leagues is no problem. Simply save the one league as a template, then load up the other league. From there select 'add league' in the league setup and select 'create from template'... then simply select the previously saved template

This is also what you should do if you are using a roster set (or any league in fact) that has hidden players disabled, and you want to enable them at some point. Just save your league as a template, add it to a new league file that has hidden players enabled, et voila...

I think this is along the same lines as the question that I brought up the other day.

If I create several different universes where each universe has two leagues where each league is a state and each state league has about 100 teams. In a perfect world, I'll end up with 25 universes of two states each.

Each two-state universe would play their season and eventually crown champions.

At that point, I'd like to create a National Championship universe and import all 50 champions. The key, though, is that I'd like to import those teams IN THE SAME CONDITION IN WHICH THEY ENDED THEIR EARLIER SEASON and start the National Championships as if it was a week or so after the individual state leagues ended.

So if a team won their state championship despite season ending injuries to three players and several others injured for some days, those injuries would still be in effect in the new league.

Will this work?

Well, you need to take a part-time job at least to pay for the game, the hardware, the electricity, food and water, etc. That's assuming, of course, that you are not already wealthy enough to retire, in which case you would already have done so and be playing OOTP at this moment.

Alas, you must deal with the cold cruel world like the rest of us. OOTP is the one shining ray of hope in an otherwise bleak, moonlike landscape.

Could you still do this if both league's txt files (nations.txt, ethnicities.txt, etc) were NOT the same?
