Position player rest questions

I was wondering about the effect of resting position players - is the amount of benefit derived from doing that related to whether they play in the field, how many at bats they have or is it just based on whether they play in a game or not?

Essentially, I'm wondering about the following types of situations:

If I use my starting catcher as a DH, does he gain any benefit over simply starting him at catcher? Does the level of fatigue of a player depend on what position he plays?

If I give a player the day off but use him to pinch hit late in the game, does that invalidate the day of rest completely, or does he still get some rest?

I can't say for sure but my best guess on what I have seen is that amount of player fatigue is related to the position they play. Catchers on my team seem to get tired more often than other players and my DH gets tired to least. As far as what controls how much fatigue they get I have no idea but I'd guess it is based on the number of innings they play.

I don't know about the DH scenario but I do know that using him as a pinch hitter will not invalidate anything. I had a player being rested for a game (at 93%) and used him as a pinch hitter and the next day his level was back to 100%.

I will keep this in mind for future games.

I sub two of my position players per game and rotate the positions each game so that by the end of a four game cycle all players would have had a day off. I have found this keeps them from tiring to the point that they are highlighted in yellow. I have noticed that when I sub one of my resting players for the DH due to injury it doesn't affect their rest status.

I dont rest them that much maybe, But yeah, on most of my teams (especially early in the year) I try to give them one game off a week. I usually have a couple of decent bench players that I like getting 10 ABs or so a week, so this works all around. Course, a lot of teams, I usually only have 6 or so(I use DH) players that I would call "true" everyday players.
