Oakland A's Weather Data??

Does everyone use San Francisco as Oakland's weather data city or is one of those other cities under CA (Stockton maybe????)

I know, I know, it's no big deal, I'm just a stickler for detail. After all, this is like the FIFTH time I've started over, and I have to go through EVERY city and type in the ballpark data EVERY time (sure would be nice if that could be set up like unis and logos, hint hint ), so if I'm going through it again I might as well ask popular opinion here instead of just clicking on San Francisco.

I dunno, I've spent lots of time in southern Ca, but none up there. It just seems Oakland's weather wouldn't be quite as severe as San Francisco's.
What do you guys choose?? Or you don't???

Honestly... I've never set anybody's weather. We don't have rain-outs, so I don't see much point.

I use San Francisco personally, but look where I live, what do I know about the Bay Area climate?
I've looked up the NWS Oakland office website and they don't keep climate data for the city, so I couldn't even offer to do an unofficial official one if you wanted one. I'm guessing that is the reason why Oakland doesn't have its own entry.

US weather data was taken from this NOAA file:

http://www1.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/c...2006_fixed.pdf

Oakland is not tracked in the file.

Thanks for the responses guys. I know there's no rainouts and its no big deal (although weather DOES play a part, if there are rain delays your pitcher becomes fatigued, forcing an early shower depending on the length of the delay). I was just curious, and since I've kept doing something here and something there wrong that causes me to want to start over, I've retyped the ballpark data quite a few times and it had me curious.

Any other game that I would've had to restart this many times I would've given up as being just to difficult for me. This one, it's like a drug, I'm hooked. Man, I sure hope the government doesn't find out about this game, they'll probably declare it illegal. I can see OOTP Anonymous groups springing up alover the country.

I don't know if you were really asking for one to be done, but I found some data from this site for the Oakland Museum weather station, so I made an unofficial official one.
SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA CLIMATE
I have no idea how the rainfall percentage is calculated in the file, so the formula I used is mean number of days of rainfall in each month divided by number of days in that particular month divided by four. No reason for the four, other than that it gets similar numbers to San Francisco's.
I also did San Jose (from the previous link) and Anaheim (from the Western Regional Climate Center website) if you or anyone else wants them. The only thing I couldn't find was the average wind speed for Anaheim so I took Fullerton's to sub in. Just add them to the weather.txt file.

Code:
206,Anaheim,California,5,58,59,61,63,67,70,75,76,74,69,63,58,3,3,2,1,0,0,0,0,0,1,1,2,
206,Oakland,California,9,51,54,56,58,61,64,65,66,66,64,57,51,4,4,4,2,1,0,0,0,1,1,3,3,
206,San Jose,California,7,50,54,57,60,64,69,71,71,69,64,55,50,4,4,4,2,1,0,0,0,1,1,3,4,

No, I didn't divide by four, I divided by eight. And there was a reason. That's the number of three hour periods in a day. Losing my marbles I think. If they're no good or you didn't want them, no problem.

If I remember correctly, that's what I did.

Well I couldn't think of any other way to do it myself. Although some of the international locations have obviously been done differently as they have very high amounts.

THanks, I can just paste these lines into the weather.txt file, right? Or, will I have to restart again so it will reload the weather database???

EDIT: Nevermind, just remembered I could just type in the numbers for Oakland, no need to restart just for one city.

So I have lived in the Bay Area my entire life (over 40 years now) and I can tell you to use SF and definitely NOT Stockton.

Oakland, especially the stadium is only just on the other side of the bay from SF. using this great site (Gmaps Pedometer) I determined the two stadiums are just over 10 miles apart.

We live in Brentwood, a suburb roughly 40 miles east of SF, with Stockton another 20 miles east of us. However there are 2 mountain ridges between us and the city and it makes a HUGE weather difference. Between SF & Oakland is just the bay.

I will give you an example from last week. Last Saturday I was watching the giants on TV and in SF at gametime it was 70*. At our house.just 40 miiles away it was 105*!!!! Stockton is typically another 1-2 hotter than we are.

So, short story long (I think I just needed to vent about how damn hot it has been) You should feel very compfrtable using SF as Oaklands weather data - they are virtually identical.

I thought weather conditions could effect a players performance, especially pitchers. I believe I read that somewhere.
