Roster Question

First off I just want to say pardon my ignorance. I am very new to the world of sim baseball (making the switch from videogames). Played Baseball Mogul a bit last year but heard OOTP was the place the be. Downloaded the demo last night and played a bit and I love it.

Couple of quick questions regarding rosters.

1 - If I buy the game today, will it be complete with updated rosters? If not, what about opening day rosters.

If the rosters are not updated (like in the demo.. ex: Edmonds, Rolen still on the Cards), is there a way to download current rosters?

I really appreciate any help.. lazy sunday afternoon and I'd love to purchase the game today and get started!

Thanks!

nope, demo and buying are same game.

nope, there was some mention of opening day rosters but you'd have to check the mods section for that. I don't really use them so I try and stay out of that "mess".

OOTP8 comes with a quickstart game that is based on 2007 MLB opening day rosters. I don't know if they plan to do the same thing with OOTP9; some of the gang are working on a different type of quickstart, fictional but based loosely on MLB. That may be this year's special offering.

However, our great modder community is working on rosters as usual. Keep an eye on this web site:

You are going to love that if you get into OOTPB. For example, CBLCardinals has already uploaded a "2008 Spring Training Roster Set" there.

One more final annoying noobie question... I've downloaded the Spring Training rosters, now how to I upload them into the game.

Right now I only have the demo.. do I need to purchase the game before uploading?

Thanks!
