OOTP 8 resetting teams at season end
I have scoured the known issues list to see if this has been posted and I dealt with this already once and went back and fixed it manually (very big pain). I started a historical league using ArodGarlon's random database in 1901 with 16 teams in 2 leagues, 4 divisions and renamed the teams and added in full minors, assigning proper affiliations. Finances etc are set for 1995, I am running Vista, and everything goes very smoothly with no crashes, but after the World Series when the scouting agency runs through each minor league, the teams reset to historic names and the affiliation alignments are lost.
I made a backup at the beginning of this year (1902) after I had to correct this last time, but I do not know how to restore the backup (I do NOT want to have to go and do the renaming again and realign the minor league teams again too). What is causing this? I have plenty of HD space, the game has never crashed on me.....please help!! |

First off, which version are you using, please?
Are the teams resetting every season, as far as you can tell? That may simply be a result of how the mod is set up. Since it is a historical league, the league may be going back to its historical files to check if each ballclub had changed its name and location that season. When you rename the teams, the game sees the different name and works to update to the "new" name. |

8.0.0.13 Version
Thanks for the reply....
It has done it each of the two seasons I have simmed. If it is referring back to the team ID database, how do I stop it from doing that or fix the issue? |

Boy, I'm not entirely sure. I've never heard of someone trying to do this before, and admittedly historicals aren't my area of expertise.
Is there any way to edit the league to turn off historical mode? Is there any way to edit the team ID number? |

Are you using the Lahmann DB to import rookies? If so then I believe the game is working correctly.
If you want your teams and affiliations to hold you will have to allow the game to create players as a fictional league. I could be wrong but that's what it seems like.
