Game 5: Defensive Play of the Game
If you missed it: Dusty Baker's three-year-old son Darren ran out onto the field during a play, and actually got to the diamond. J.T. Snow, on his way home from third, grabbed Darren by the jacket, practically dragged him along, and picked him up as soon as he crossed home plate. Now, I'm not denying that it was a nice move by J.T., and indeed, it looked rather funny on replay.
However, that was named the Allstate Defensive Play of the Game. Not even considering the fact that Snow's save had no influence on the play whatsoever - is this the first time the "Defensive Play of the Game" has gone to a player who is on offense at the time? |

That play was cute. I loved Dusty's expression when he saw the play. In the paper this morning, Dusty said that the first phone call he got after the game was from his mom chewing him out.
Did you see all those kids in the Giants' dugout? Looked like they're running a daycare. Hate to see what would happen if a somebody lined a foul ball in there. |
